That's why we've gathered here the questions our guests ask us most, so planning your stay is just as effortless and enjoyable as the experience itself. You'll find information on reservations, policies, amenities, and everything you need to know before you arrive.

  • CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT

    Early Arrival / Late Departure

Check-in time is 3:00 pm and check-out time is 12:00 pm.

Arriving Early? We will make every effort to accommodate you based on availability. Please inform us in advance of your arrival time. If early check-in isn't possible, we are happy to securely store your luggage while you explore our property.

Need an Extra Hour? Depending on our occupancy, we can provide a complimentary late check-out until 1:00 pm, allowing you to make the most of your time with us.

Extended Stay? If you wish to stay beyond 1:00 pm, a late check-out between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm is available for an additional charge of $100 USD + taxes, depending on availability.

    ELECTRIC ADAPTOR

The electricity supply in Mexico is 115V at 60Hz, which is the same as in the United States and Canada. The wall plug type is also identical. Therefore, if you're visiting from the US or Canada, you won't need a special adaptor for your electronic devices.

    COMMUNICATION

Before arriving, reach out to your cell phone carrier to explore international plan options and prevent unexpected charges. If you choose not to opt for an international plan, remember to disable cellular and data roaming, as well as push notifications on your device.

In areas where cellphone service may be limited, WiFi is commonly available. To stay connected, we recommend using WhatsApp, a reliable communication platform that works well with WiFi connectivity. This way, you can ensure smooth communication throughout your visit.

    CHILDREN AND PETS

We love kids, but unfortunately due to our small size and intimate atmosphere, we only allow children ages 12 and older in the hotel. We also love pets, but they too must stay at home.

    SMOKING

We do not allow smoking on hotel premises, however, we do have a designated smoking area in front of the hotel.

    BEACH AND SEAWEED

Sargasso seaweeds are a natural occurrence that can affect our Mexican Caribbean beaches, including Tulum. The blooming, migration, and presence of sargasso are unpredictable, making it challenging to anticipate its levels on any given day.

To ensure our guests can enjoy pristine beaches, we have a dedicated team working daily to remove and dispose of seaweed from the beach strand. However, during periods of high sargasso arrivals, we invite our guests to enjoy Tulum Beach's largest pool at our Jungle side.

Beyond the beaches, Tulum offers a wealth of experiences, including exploring Cenotes, ancient Mayan ruins in Tulum, Coba, and Chichen Itza, cave exploration, and swimming with whale sharks. The growing foodie scene boasts acclaimed restaurants like Hartwood, Arca, Wild, and NÜ. Even after two weeks in Tulum, you'll find there's much more to discover.

We are actively participating in a coast-wide initiative to address increasing seaweed growth. Our involvement in meetings with academics, the government, and the private sector aims to find durable solutions, including sea recollection and offshore nets to contain seaweed before it reaches the beaches. Join us in supporting this initiative for the long-term benefit of our beautiful coast.

*Pool access is subject to availability on a first-come, first-serve basis.

    MINDFULNESS

At La Valise Tulum, we are committed to maintaining an environmentally friendly property and appreciate our guests' mindfulness toward flora, fauna, and natural resources. To contribute to this effort, we kindly ask you to dispose of toilet paper in the provided trash cans. Additionally, please be mindful of energy usage by turning off lights when not needed. While our A/C is available 24/7, we recommend using it from 6:00 pm to 9:00 am to support energy conservation.

    WILDLIFE

Our hotel is located in a protected natural area of Tulum, where wildlife is part of the surrounding ecosystem and the experience we offer.

You may occasionally encounter animals around the property. Please admire them from a safe distance and refrain from feeding or approaching them.

The hotel is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or damages that may result from interactions with wildlife.
